Imphal, October 15 2013: Personnel of 22 Assam Rifles seized 22 cases of canned beer from a bootlegger at Tengnoupal along Imphal Moreh road of National Highway 2 yesterday.

Assam Rifles sources informed one Dina of Langthabal Mantrikhong in Imphal West district was bootlegging the foreign made 22 cases of canned beer from Moreh to Imphal in a Maruti van with registration number AS 24A 0313 .

The AR personnel seized the items and arrested the van driver while conducting frisking and checking on Sita road junction section of the highway.

Manipur is a dry state after the state Government imposed the Manipur Liquor Prohibition Act 1991 and that the Act is still in force in the State.
