CM releases fingerlings, plants saplings

Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh along with Kangla Fort Board Members planted trees near rose garden inside Kangla and released fingerlings at the inner moat of Kangla as a part of an annual tree plantation programme.
The event was organized by the Office of the Superintendent of State Archeology.
Briefing media persons, the Chief Minister spoke about the opening of "Nongpok Thong" under Act East Policy and Smart Cities.
Pointing out that Kangla is a sacred and historical place, he expressed keen desire to close certain sections of Kangla Fort to trespassers.
Later N Biren held a meeting with Kangla Fort Board Members and the meeting agreed to open a gallery at the western gate of Kangla Fort.
The gallery will display artistic creations, crafts and handicraft products.
A light and sound system will display Anglo-Manipuri War which will help students understand the history Manipur.
