Imphal, February 15 2016:
Like many other MLAs, Kh Joykishan too has demanded immediate review of the eligibility criteria which allows any citizen of India to appear for the civil services examination conduc-ted by Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) .
Speaking to media persons at his Thangmeiband residence today, Joykishan said that MPSC's eligibility criteria which does not impose any restriction depending on candidate's places of residence is a matter of serious concern.
He warned that intense agitation would be launched if the existing eligibility criteria is not rectified at the earliest.
Domicile certificates and thorough knowledge of mother tongues are essential prerequisites for civil services exams conducted in other States of the country.
Allowing any citizen of India to apply for the Manipur Civil Services Exam for appointment to a limited number of seats is rather unfair, Joykishan remarked.
Talking about BJP Manip-ur Pradesh, he asserted that there is neither groupism nor dissidence within the party.
Retaining or replacing Th Chaoba as president of BJP Manipur Pradesh depends on the wisdom of BJP Central leadership.
Extension of Th Chaoba's tenure would be supported by all party workers, he asserted while calling upon all concerned to remain calm and work collectively if they want to strengthen the party.
