National Integration tour to Pune & Mumbai flagged off

Moreh Battalion of Pallel Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a National Integration Tour to Pune and Mumbai from January 14 to 26 .
24 students, two teachers from North Eastern States and representatives of Moreh Battalion Assam Rifles are participating in the tour, said a press release issued by PRO, IGAR.
The tour was flagged off by Professor Jagdish Mukhi, Governor of Assam today, it said and added that the tour is being undertaken with an aim to enable the local youths of North East States to have a first hand experience of "Unity in diversity" of the country and its rich culture and also to provide them with an opportunity to witness the development and prosperity of a resurgent India.
The participants are scheduled to interact with the Governor of Maharashtra and other prominent personalities of Military and civil organizations.
Visit to various prestigious military and civil establishments includes NDA Khadakwasla, CME Pune, Bombay Engineering Group, AIPTC, DRDO R&D (Engrs), Singhad Fort, Naval Dockyard Mumbai, Taraporewala Aquarium and local sight seeing in Pune and Mumbai.
All the students and their parents, teachers and Government agencies have expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for this noble initiative in providing this rare opportunity to the students of remote areas of North East States, it added.
