Healthy Baby competition

A state level Healthy Baby Competition was held today at the BT road office of the Directorate of Family Welfare Services to mark the birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
Pandit Nehru's birthday is celebrated across the country as Children's Day.
As chief guest of the event, Health and Family Welfare Minister Phungzathang Tonsing said that the healthy baby competition is in honour of Nehru's concept that a healthy nation would be a reality only when the children are healthy.
Principal Secretary (Health & Family Welfare) Dr suhel Akhtar and State Healthy Society's State Mission Director Dr Okram Ibomcha Singh also attended the function as president and guest of honour respectively.
In the 6 month - 1 year category of the competition, Okram Bishonath of Thoubal won the top prize Rs 10,000 with Namchunglien of Tamenglong also bagging the same amount for topping the 1-2 year category while N Nileshan of Thoubal was declared the healthiest in the 2-3 year group, also carrying same amount.
Second and third position winners were presented Rs 8000 and Rs 5000 each while consolation prizes of Rs 1000 each were also distributed on the occasion.
