Backward runner feted by CSOs at Cachar

Jiribam, September 14 2024: Kiran Meitei Konthoujam, who launched a long distance backward running campaign has been feted by different civil society organisations upon reaching Cachar including Rural Development Committee, Lakhipur Khunou (RDC), Women Action Committee for Village Protection, Khunou Meira Paibi, AMMPAL and Rural Development Association, Pallarbond.

The backward runner from Yairipok Poireikhongjil, Manarei Makhong passed through Binnakandi, Lakhipur Khuman, Tolenkhun and Pallarbond in Cachar district.

According to Kiran, he launched the backward running campaign to show his discontent with the Central and State Government's failure to rein in the violent conflict in the State.

Demanding restoration of peace, he maintained that otherwise he will extend his backward running campaign to the rest of the country.

Notably, Kiran started the campaign on July 26, 2024 from Khangabok Relief Camp in Thoubal district.
