Tamenglong, August 14 2013: Strongly reacting to the reported Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) convenor Mutum Maipaksana's contention that in the event of the creation of Jiribam district, not even an inch of other districts will be affected, NSCN-IM 'deputy kilonser' incharge of home affairs in the 'Zeliangrong Region' L Golmei pointed out today that the police personnel from Gularthol outpost of Imphal East district are now at Mukhtakhal which is 4km inside Tamenglong district.

"What are those Imphal East police personnel doing there?" questioned the NSCN-IM leader.

Jiribam falls under Imphal East district.

L Golmei said that the JDDC convenor should not utter things loosely as everyone is not blind or deaf but knows what is going on in connection with the proposed creation of Jiribam district.

The NSCN-IM leader then warned that if a bit of Tamenglong district is touched in the creation of Jiribam district, Mutum Maipaksana and JDDC should be held responsible for the chain reactions and the untoward incidents that will definitely follow.

L Golmei then said to upgrade Jiribam sub-division to a full-fledged district lacks required criteria such as the population.
