Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) man arrested

Imphal, October 13 2012:
The Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA)'s arms smuggler Daewish Marak alias Deva was arrested yesterday by Guwahati city police at Jorabat.
Police recovered a 9mm pistol and 7 rounds of live ammunition.
The police said that arrestee is a resident of East Garo hill's Williamnagar.
He was planning to leave for Dimapur via Guwahati along
with that ammunition but was arrested during Jorabat police's routine checking, who found this ammunition with him.
Later he was handed over to the Meghalaya Police.
Until now 7 arms smugglers have been arrested in various parts of Guwahati city.
Sources said, this man frequently provide arms to the GNLA through secret route.
There are quite few charges against him in Meghalaya.
Currently the GNLA is active through Meghalaya and has good relations with the ULFA.
