Imphal, June 13 2011: Personnel of VDF arrested one motorcycle lifter from Paona International Market area here today.

The bike lifter identified as Md Nizamuddin (32) of Thoubal Leishangthem Keibung but presently staying at Hatta Golapati was arrested at around 2.30 pm today.

Interestingly, Nizamuddin was coming on a Bajaj Pulser bearing registration no.MN-05B/2089 when he accidentally collided with an autorickshaw and fell on the ground.

Some of the VDF personnel, who were on duty in the area, came forward to help him.

But seeing them, Nizamuddin took to his heels.

After a hot chase, Nizamuddin was arrested and from questioning, it came to light that he had actually stolen the motorcycle.

Nizamuddin and the stolen motorcycle were subsequently handed over to the custody of a patrol party of Police Commandos.
