People throng markets for last minute shopping, marketing for Ningol Chakkouba

Imphal, November 12 2015:
On the eve of Ningol Chakkouba, citizens thronged markets, shopping complexes and arcades in Imphal City for the "last minute" buying of essential commodities, food items and gifts.

Thousands of people on Thursday visited makeshift shops, road side stalls and shops in Imphal City's main markets.
Many street vendors were seen selling their wares even on footpaths.
With people resorting to frantic shopping and marketing, Imphal city was bustling with commercial activities.
However, there were traffic snarls in and around Khwairamband Bazaar area, Paona and Thangal Bazzars.
Buyers who had come to town had a tough time trying to find parking spaces.
