He went on to said that C-section is most common among the Meitei/Meetei community.
In most cases, the pregnant mother and the family opted C-section, he added.
Stating that C-section delivery is not a good option always, Dr Surchandra pointed out that there is need of a proper State Government policy and guideline on C-section delivery which will suit the State.
Emphasising the need for preservation and promotion of indigenous population, particularly, Meetei/Meitei community, IKAL president O Bimola Devi asserted that the "Small family, happy family" slogan of the India Government for population control does not suit the State.

To preserve and promote growth of Meitei/Meetei and indigenous population, IKAL and SUO have been organising the felicitation programme on June 12 every year since 2014, she added.
Speaking at the event, SUO president, Luwang Leima also said that the organisations have been organising the function "Ekai Khumnajaba" to promote indigenous population growth and develop human resource under the theme "Eikhoi Keidounungda Mutloi".
