Imphal, May 12 2017: Sessions Court Imphal East today recorded statement of a prosecution witness of the Paraolon ambush case and set May 26 as the date for next hearing. Thoubam Ibomcha of Naharup Awang Leikai gave his statement as the prosecution witness number 8 of NIA.

He submitted before the Court that he works as a mason and had identified his brother Th Somorendro amongst the group of KCP cadres in combat dress shown to him by NIA. An accused in the case, Kunlo Abi Anal @ Ambison (37) s/o (L) Khumlo Kunjo Anal of Lamlambung village in Chandel, who is under judicial custody was produced before the Court. It may be mentioned that 18 personnel of Dogra Regiment were killed in a fierce ambush laid by a group of underground outfits at Paraolon on April 6, 2015 and a few days later the case was taken up by NIA.
