Sales event of Thoubal IDPs generates over Rs 1 lakh in sales

Thoubal, March 12 2025: The one-day sales event organised by the District Administration, Thoubal for the IDPS of Thoubal Relief Camps has generated over Rs 1 lakh in sales.

The one-day sales event held at the Counting Hall of DC Complex, Thoubal witnessed the sale of handmade products like stools, dolls, candles, flowers, kauna products, office files, pencil pouches, mobile bags, carry bags and many others.

Speaking in this connection, DC Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash (IAS) said that since the eruption of the ethnic violence in the State, many people hailing from Moreh, Churachandpur, Napat, Sugnu, Serou, etc have been taking shelter at the relief camps.

In order to support their livelihood, the District Administration Thoubal has imparted various skill development training programmes for the IDPs.

As a result of the training, the inmates are able to produce various handcrafted products and make them available to the people, said Subhash.

The sales event organised prior to the Yaoshang festival was able to generate a sum of over Rs 1 lakh, said the DC .

He also expressed gratitude to the people who have shown support in the sales event organised for the IDPs .
