Cong wedded to corruption :: Bhabananda

Imphal, October 10 2016: Claiming that the Congress Government is wedded to corruption, State BJP president K Bhabananda has asserted that it is only the BJP which can provide a corruption free regime in the State.

The State BJP president said this while inaugurating the BJP Lilong mandal office at Ushoipokpi today.

Addressing the inauguration function, Bhabananda said that the Congress has been trying to befool the public by claiming that after the BJP came to power at the Centre, the funds have stopped flowing to the State.

Contrary to the claim of the Congress Government, the BJP led Government at the Centre has been doling out beneficiaries to the people of the State, including gas, mudra loan and other schemes.

Instead of making sure that the benefits reach the people, the Congress Government here has been neglecting them to spread the canards that it is the BJP led Government at Delhi which has not released the necessary schemes, said the State BJP president.

Stating that the Congress Government here has not done anything substantial for the people, Bhabananda said that giving some contract works here and there cannot be the barometer of development.

The focus should be on the upliftment of the weaker section of society, he said and added that nothing on this front has been done in the 15 years rule of the Congress party.

Just how corrupt the Congress Government is can be gauged from the manner in which it is going full steam ahead with fresh recruitment drive, he said and added that during any recruitment drive huge amount of money is taken from the candidates.

This is looting the people, he added.

BJP Thoubal district president L Deven who also addressed the function lauded the people of Lilong for opening the office and added that the time has come for all to unite and usher in development.
