Protest against rape continues

Imphal, April 09 2012: As a part of the agitations launched by the JAC against the gang-rape of a housewife, a sit-in protest was staged today at Ragailong under the aegis of the JAC formed in connection with the incident.

Vehemently condemning the gang-rape incident, the protesters termed the incident as a monstrous act.

They said that the Government had imprisoned the rapists, including the two police personnel with an intention to abort massive agitation against the crime.

However, it could send a wrong signal among the personnel if they were left unpunished.

The protesters demanded that the four rapists, including SI Tiken be hanged.

The protesters also raised slogans demanding the hanging of the rapists during the sit-in.
