Bishnupur, February 09 2020: A combined team of CDO-Unit Bishnupur, 4th IRB and 31st Assam Rifle, Bravo Company arrested one active member of UNLF from Thanga, today.

Acting on specific information about the presence of some UG cadres at Thanga Samukol area, the combined team launched a search operation at the said area, said a statement issued by Bishnupur SP.

Saying that the team detained one youth who tried to move away from the place on seeing the security personnel, the statement continued that the arrested cadre has been identified as Haobijam Bisheshwor Singh (35), s/o (L) Babu Singh of Thanga Shamukol Leikai.

It further said that the arrested individual has been handed over to Keibul Lamjao Police Station for investigation.

On another incident, a team of CDO Unit, Bishnupur including women police arrested one over ground worker of KCP (N) from Trongloabi Awang Leikai, continued the statement.

Stating that the woman identified herself as Mutum Roma alias Naobi Chanu (42), d/o M Jugindro Meitei of Tronglaobi Awang Leikai, the police said that one mobile phone with Jio sim card were found from her while body searching by the lady police.

The arrested woman and recovered items were handed over to Moirang PS.

A case has also been registered at Moirang PS for investigation.
