Truck associations vow to provide necessary assistance to affected family

The NH-37 Truck Owners Association, All Manipur Inter State Bus and Allied Transport Association and All Manipur Petroleum Tanker Drivers Union, have vowed to provide every possible help the family of the victims who were grievously injured in a road accident in between Taobam and Khongsang, along National Highway 37, on October 5 .
Speaking to media persons, president of NH-37 Truck Owners’ Association, Kh Naoba expressed profound sorrow at the unfortunate incident and added that the associations will provide what ever they can to aid the child who is currently undergoing treatment at RIMS .
It may be recalled that Champoungam Malangmei (35) and his son Ngamsinlung (7) of Rengpang village, were grievously injured in a hit and run accident, while returning home from Awang khul on a motorcycle .
The father unfortunately died shortly after the accident, suspected to have been caused by a truck .
Inaoba said that the three associations ill provide all possible help in finding the detail of the vehicle involved in the case and appealed all the CSOs and transport organisations to aid the associations as well .
He further appealed the Nungba Area Joint Action Committee to call off the indefinite bandh along NH-37, taking into consideration the approaching Ningol Chakouba festival .
Speaking to media persons, president of All Manipur Petroleum Tanker Drivers Union, Y Bhupendra Ghosh, said that a similar incident occurred at Khongnem along NH-39, some time back, and the transporters provided all the possible support in finding the culprit .
He also expressed desire for the police to speed up the investigation process .
He further pointed out that there are several police station and outposts between Khongsang and Imphal and all vehicles have to register on entry .
He further appealed to State Government to give every possible aid and assistance to affected family.
