Imphal, July 08 2022: Rajya Sabha MP, Sanajaoba Leishemba has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister N Biren Singh for his earnest efforts for inclusion of Manipuri language in the classical languages of India.

In a statement, Sanajaoba Leishemba expressed contentment over the initiatives taken up by the Chief Minister for the inclusion of Manipuri language in the classical languages of India and for urging the Ministry concerned to ramp up the process for the same.

In connection with the matter, a meeting was convened yesterday chaired by the Chief Minister and attended by Works Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Education Minister Th Basanta, experts and officials of Art and Culture, Language Directorate, he added.

The MP also extended gratitude to all the attendees and for sharing their inputs.

It may be noted that the Rajya Sabha MP proposed to include Manipuri language in the classical languages of India in the Rajya Sabha in September 2020 and has been striving relentlessly to acheive the cause.
