RK Imo enumerates developmental works in Sagolband AC

Fourteen individuals including the former Corporator of Ward no 8, Sagolband Assembly Constituency have joined the Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee (SCPC) .
The 14 new members were feted and presented with gifts by RK Imo, MLA of Sagolband Assembly Constituency in a simple ceremony held at his residence today.
Speaking on the occasion, RK Imo said that the upcoming State Assembly election will be conducted without fail due to Constitution obligations and it is expected to be held in the early months of 2022 and he said that measures are underway to ensure that all the developmental works in the constituency are completed before the election.
He expressed discontent that the progress of developmental works have been hampered due the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Once the situation of COVID-19 is stable, the progress report of developmental works taken up in the constituency will be published as done earlier and will be made known to the pubic so that there is no information gap of the same, he added.
Enumerating the developmental works taken up during his tenure, RK Imo said that repairing of more than 90 percent of the roads in Sagolband AC have been completed except for some non IVR small roads.
The black topping of the stretch of road from Naoremthong till Bijoy Govinda beside the Nambul river have started and proper lighting will be provided as well, he added.
Regarding the water pipeline connection work, he said that most of the areas in the AC have water pipeline connectivity now and further stated that there will be no water scarcity issue in Sagolband AC once the construction of water head tank at Tera Boys is completed and becomes operational.
Acknowledging the inconveniences faced by the residents of the AC due to the absence of a nearby health centre, he gave assurance that the foundation stone of an Urban Health Centre will be laid soon within his curren tenure as the Central Government have approved for the same.
Talking the upcoming State Assembly election, RK Imo said that a decision will be made after consulting with the people of Sagolband AC about the political party from which he will contest election.
He continued that it is under consideration whether a new political party will be formed or he will join a like minded one.
Further he maintained that people elect their representatives considering their potential and the contributions made by them in the interest of the people and not by the political parties.
Today's function was also attended by L Nobo, president of SCPC, RK Jiten, former Corporator of Ward no 7 and G Bino, former Corporator of Ward no 8 as the dais members.
During the event, homage was paid to the late members of SCPC, T Amuba, H Anil and M Nodiyachand and two minute silence was observed as a mark of respect.
