Governor Gurubachan Jagat Singh and Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh have extended their warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the happy and auspicious occasion of Yaoshang, the festival of colours.
In his message, the Governor said that Yaoshang festival is celebrated at the onset of spring and marks the rejuvenation of the spirit of life.
Celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm, the festival exhorts all to forget the differences and spread the message of love, friendship, brotherhood and unity amongst all people, irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
He further wished that the festival would bring peace and progress in the State.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, in his message mentioned that Yaoshang is one of the biggest festivals of the State.
He said that the festival offers an opportunity for all to set aside their differences and to come and rejoice together.
The Chief Minister further wished that the festival would bring peace, prosperity and happiness to all the people of the State.
