Breast Cancer Screening, Health Camp held

A 1-Day Special Outreach Health Camp was conducted at the community hall of Keishampat Thiyam Leikai in Imphal West district on Friday.
The camp was jointly organised by Urban Primary Health Centre, Kwakeithel; Keishampat Thiyam Leikai Development Committee and Urban Health & Wellness Centre, Khwairakpam Leikai.
A wide range of medical services including general health checkups, maternal and child health care were provided to more than 100 individuals during the camp.
The medical team consisting of 6 doctors, 9 nurses, 1 pharmacist and 1 technician also provided various services including free cervical cancer screening and immunisation for children.
Free medicines were also provided to the patients.
Dr Birjit Ningthoujam, Medical Officer of Urban Primary Health Centre, Kwakeithel and Chongtham Iboyaima, president of Keishampat Thiyam Leikai Development Committee were also present at the camp.
Meanwhile, Karkinos Manipur Cancer Institute and Research Centre conducted a 1-Day Free Breast Cancer Screening Camp at its premises in JNIMS campus, Porompat today.
Around 120 women were screened for breast cancer during the camp.
Notably, the screening camp will continue on Saturday to facilitate the people who were unable to attend the eye camp today.
