Imphal, October 06 2013:
India's food security should not beguile people of Manipur.
In case the Indian political leaders are genuinely concerned for its people, food grains which listed for distribution to public at cheap, subsidised rates should be made available in open markets at the same cheap price, asserted the banned United Revolutionary Front (URF) Manipur.
A press release issued by the outfit's information and publicity secretary Sanajaoba Meitei alleged that the Indian political leaders have been pretending to be sympathetic towards its impoverished mass after more than 60 years of Indian independence.
The Government of India devised the Food Security Act in the form of a vaccine to face the ever growing Maoist revolution in mainland India.
People of Manipur need to be far-sighted instead of seeking some material benefits for the present.
Reminding that it was just a few days back that the ideals, principles and beliefs of Lamyanba Irabot was deliberated and studied far and wide, the outfit questioned whether all those discussions and analysis would be rendered meaningless.
As for the growing menace of drug abuse, self-consciousness and self-protection are the best defence, the outfit asserted.
