Imphal, August 06 2015:
MPP has demanded termination of all the police personnel severely assaulted girl students and dragged them by the hair.
Speaking to some media persons on Tuesday, MPP president N Sovakiran said a group of students surrendered their textbooks at Old Secretariat yesterday in protest against the Government's failure to implement ILPS in Manipur and punish the police personnel involved in the killing of Sapam Robinhood.
However, instead of pacifying the agitating students most of whom were girls, police unleashed brute force and dragged the girls by their hair.
Sovakiran said that the total population of non-local people has crossed nine lakhs in Manipur.
Their population would multiply manifold once Imphal is connected with other parts of India by railway.
It is on account of this growing apprehension that the students cannot sit and study silently in their classrooms.
While welcoming the peace accord signed between NSCN-IM and Government of India, Sovakiran demanded that all the details of the accord should be made public.
The peace accord was signed on August 3 between NSCN-IM general secretary Th Muivah and interlocutor RN Ravi.
