Ukhrul, October 05 2015:
The four day women triennial conference organised by the Tangkhul Baptist Churches' Association (TBCA) concluded today in celebration of womanhood, reports Mungchan Zimik.
In the four day triennial conference held at Jessami village, Ukhrul, eminent Tangkhul preachers talked on the role and contributions of women and substantiated their vital role and responsibilities in shaping society through their influence and contributions as good mothers.
Rev Yarngam Muivah, the executive secretary of TBCA said that celebrating womanhood is a challenge because women have procreation power, which is God's greatest gift and the process of nurturing and moulding the youngsters till they attain adulthood.
No mother should undermine these responsibilities, he added.
Quoting from the book of Genesis, he said God created women in a very special way to make her life meaningful.
A good mother or a God fearing mother will always show the right path to their children with care and discipline them.
She will have a positive impact in developing their character.
Women secretary of TBCA Chonchon Kaping urged the women present there to discard any inferiority complexes they might have and added that though there might be physical differences between a man and a woman, educationally and emotionally all are equal.
Women enjoy the same status as a man, she underlined and added that women should participate and take an active role in building and transforming society.
The women delegates from 67 Churches of TBCA demonstrated their talents in handicraft, declamation, quiz and singing competitions.
