Social Welfare Minister participates in "Save Soil Movement"

Social Welfare Minister Heikham Dingo Singh participated in a function held at the Plenary Hall of Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi in connection with Sadhguru's "Save Soil Movement" today.
Speaking from New Delhi in a telephonic conversation, the Minister expressed gratitude at being invited to partake in this function.
He also stated the need for people of Manipur to work together in conserving the soil and soil fertility, emphasizing on the fact that 57% of all agricultural lands across the globe have been degraded.
He added that the use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides etc are degrading soil fertility and highlighted the need to conserve soil fertility using natural means.
The Minister further emphasised the importance of the day's event which was held after Sadhguru's 75 day motorcycle tour of London concluded and he reached New Delhi.
He also appealed to the people to support Chief Minister N Biren Singh's initiative to combat deforestation by planting more trees and soil fertility conservation initiatives.
