The Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA) today staged a sit in protest at DC Lamkhai, Chandel to condemn the assault and subsequent murder of ST Kowar Anal demanding appropriate punishment of those involved in the killing of the student.
ANTA president, Wing Kohring Victor said that a memorandum has been submitted to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner today afternoon.
The body demanded punishment of the culprits as per the law within 48 hours, compensation to the victim family in the form of ex-gratia besides a suitable job to a family member of the victim and also to constitute joint enquiry committee allowing them to re-examine the post mortem recordings with the help of a competent doctor, reports our correspondent.
The memorandum further stated that on March 19 at around 8 pm, Kowar was attacked by some unknown persons in his rented room at Tera Loukrakpam Leikai, Imphal.
He was admitted to Shija Hospital but later succumbed to his head injury on March 21 .
Wing Kohring Victor added that the Anal body will launch a series of agitation if the authority concerned fails to fulfil the demand within 48 hours.
