Expressing satisfaction of the black topping work, he stated that the work would have been more complete if the stretch has a drainage system.
The non allotment of pucca drainage system along the 27 km stretch from Senapati to Koubru Leikha is unfortunate, he said.
The North-Eastern part of India especially Manipur normally receives abundant rainfall every year which generally start by the month of February and continue till late November.
As such, a drainage system along the road is vital in controlling the spilled water, he said.
The staggering amount of money that is being spent on the construction and renovation of road will have little meaning if the road is not associated with proper drainage system, he added.
The TSA Sadar Hills appealed the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to undertake necessary steps for construction of pucca drainage system along the stretch from Senapati to Koubru Leikha.
