Writers contribution towards society stressed

Imphal, January 05 2020: Naharol Sahitya Premi Samiti, Imphal organised a seminar on the works of Kangjam Padmakumar at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy today.

The seminar "Manipuri Sahityada Kangjam Padmakumar" was attended by CAF & PD Minister Karam Shyam and president Naharol Sahitya Premi Samiti Imphal L Upendra Sharma as chief guest and president respectively.

At the event, CAF&PD Minister Karam Shyam said that the works of writers are treasure of the society.

Their works reflect the nature and status of the society, and they guide the society for better, he said adding that holding seminar on their lives and works are important.

The contribution of the writers towards the society and Manipuri literature is huge, he said mentioning renown writers Dr Kamal and Anganghal and their place in Manipuri literature.

Their works have encouraged many, he added.

Writers' contributions are not only confined to the field of literature, they have been and still are vocal in many social issues.

Writers have huge role in guiding the society, he said expressing that they are inspiration for many youth.

Retired IAS Kangjam Radhakumar also attended the event.
