State flag hoisted at half mast to protest merger

Imphal, October 04 2015: Coalition for Indigenes' Rights Campaign (CIRCA), Manipur, as part of its month-long protest against the merger agreement today, hoisted the State flag at half-mast at Sekta Community hall.

A discussion on the pre-merger political status of Manipur was also held on the occasion, according to a statement issued by CIRCA convenor.

The discussion was jointly organised by the Social Sporting Club, Sekta Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and Sekta Village Development Committee in support of CIRCA's protest against the merger agreement.

Similar discussions on the pre-merger political status of Manipur were also held at Keirao Nongpok Ningthou Panthoibi Haraopham, Moirang Kampu Library Club, Kiyamgei Maning Leikai community hall, Kongpal Netaji Memorial club, Ghari Awang Women Development Club centre, Kongpal Chanam Leikai, Top Khongnangkhong and Chingtam Community hall.

The State flag was hoisted at half-mast at all these places where the discussions on the pre-merger status of Manipur were held.
