Residential Model School, Jiribam yet to be inaugurated

People of Jiribam district have decried the failure of the authorities concerned to inaugurate the Residential Model School in Harinagar, Jiribam for more than two years.
After the former Chief Minister Ibobi had failed to inaugurate the school during his visit in October 31, 2016, the structure has been lying useless till date, reports our correspondent.
Numerous students in Jiribam district face immense grievances when it comes to the infrastructure of educational institutions.
Although there are structure that has been constructed in Harinagar, the authorities concerned has failed to look into the education sector and the welfare of students in the district.

One of the locals residing in the area, Tonjam Bemcha said that her husband took part in the construction of the school building but the work stopped as it was about to be inaugurated.
She maintained that the school was not inaugurated and the construction work has not been finished till date which is rather unfortunate.
She urged the authorities concerned to finish the work and inaugurate the building at the earliest.
As the school has not been manned properly, mischievous and drunk youth, during festivals and occasions, enters the compound and demolish school properties including windows, fan etc.
Meanwhile, MSF Jiribam district Committee president Atom Rajiv stated that construction for major portions of the school is already complete for the residential school however, the lack of inauguration and operation of the school on the part of the authorities concerned is rather unfortunate for the student community.
He appealed the State Government to relieve the grievances of the students and inaugurate the school at the earliest.
DESAM District Council has urged immediate intervention of the State Government although the school was constructed during the time of the former Government.
It can be recalled that AJUCA, JDO and Meira Paibis after inspecting the school had stood against inauguration of the school as it was not properly finished at that time.
