NSF general assembly held in Ukhrul

The General Assembly of Naga Student's Federation (NSF), hosted by Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), was convened recently at Ukhrul emphasing on the issues of protecting the land rights of the Nagas among others.
In a press communique issued on Wednesday, TKS president Yangmi Khapai stated the daylong NSF general assembly was attended by delegates of 16 units of the Federation from the Northeast region.
''The NSF assembly, this time in Ukhrul, is the largest ever organised...addressed many key issues concerning the Naga students,'' he declared.
He said the issue of upholding and protecting the land ownership and rights of the Nagas was among the key agenda deliberated by the assembly.
''The assembly resolved to uphold and protect the ancestral land of the Nagas and defend our rights from any divisive forces,'' said the release.
The meeting also deliberated and adopted resolutions on various pertinent pending issues of the student's body.
The statement further informed that the NSF general conference will be held at Dimapur from April 24 .
Meanwhile, the TKS expressed gratitude to Tangkhul Shanao Long Delhi (TSLD) for making all efforts in repatriating the trafficked children from Jaipur.
The student's body also thanked Chingai AC MLA MK Preshaw Shimray for extending material assistance to the trafficked children.
It urged the state government to initiate stern action against anyone involved in the trafficking racket.
