ZYF set to boycott Noney village

The Zeliangrong Youth Front meeting held on Jan 3 at its Head Office resolved that the organisation will not extend or seek cooperation or support from Longmai (Noney) village for failing to comply with the ultimatum served to them on Dec 19, 2013 aftermath the Dec 12 midnight incident wherein ZYF leaders were humiliated, treated as their most wanted enemies and ill treated at Longmai (Noney) village community hall while the ZYF leaders were preventing Orange growers from participating in Orange Festival 2013 due to alleged failure of the State Govt to meet several demands raised by the ZYF.
As Orange Festival is Manipur Govt sponsored festival, the ZYF was compelled to launch protest against the Manipur Govt demanding solution to illegal encroachment on the land of Tamenglong district prior to any programme or festival being organised in the district, said a statement issued by the information and publicity secretary of ZYF (AMN), Jaomuna Kamei.
Any programme or festival organized in the district without solving the illegal encroachment issue is nothing but attempt to hypnotize the people of the district of which is never accepted by the ZYF.
While ZYF were enforcing the people common cause pertaining to land, the groups of individuals with vested interest led by Namdourei Dangmei, Lanthuiguang (Bungkhai) Kamei, Chuangdi Kamei, Dailin Kamei manhandled, humiliated and insulted the ZYF leaders.
These individuals are assisted by Zino Kamson ADC member of Longmai MDC segment, Namthuanguang Kamei and Adai Dangmei all from Longmai (Noney) village, it pointed out.
The ZYF taking this incident very seriously convened emergency meeting on Dec 19, 2013 and served ultimatum to Longmai (Noney) village giving seven days time to clarify/justify the incident.
However, there is no response therefore, the ZYF convened another meeting on Jan 3 and adopted several resolutions.
To drop Lanthuiguang (Bungkhai) Kamei, Secretary, Village Authority, Longmai (Noney) and Chuangdi Kamei, Secretary, Peikai (village customary court) from their respective post; Namdourei Dangmei, Hindi teacher, Ashram school, Longmai and Dailin Kamei, Asst teacher of district council school, Tamenglong to pay necessary penalty/fine as per the Zeliangrong customary practices for their wrongful action/misdeed and to apologise to the ZYF are among other resolutions adopted by the ZYF.
It further urged the village to give their position clear with written clarification for the ill-treatment meted out to ZYF leaders at the Longmai (Noney) village community hall after picking up from Reangkhung village.
The meeting also decided that until and unless the condition mentioned above are not met and fulfilled and the matter settle amicably between the ZYF and Longmai (Noney) village, any social function or festival organise by any organisation at Longmai (Noney) village other than their village itself will be boycotted, the statement added.
