Imphal, April 03 2013: GOC Red Shield Division Maj Gen KK Sinha along with Commander 27 Sector Assam Rifles Brig Advitya Madan reportedly visited forward posts in Churachandpur district at Chemonal Lancha, Sanaikot and Henglep today.

Expressing that the visit has infused fresh enthusiasm and elevated the spirits of the troops deployed at these far-flung, isolated and sensitive areas, a PIB (DW) release said that the GOC also interacted with the post commanders and soldiers of these posts and reviewed their operational focus to steer the Sector to further excellence.

Prior to deployment of Security Forces, the area was dominated by UGs in large numbers who had made life difficult for the common man.

The presence of the security forces has reduced infiltration these areas and has brought about a transformational shift in the security situation, added the release.
