Capt Imochaoba appointed Commissioner of National Air Sports Commission

Captain Kshetrimayum Imochaoba Singh has been appointed the first-ever Commissioner of the National Air Sports Commission by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of lndia to look after the Aero Sports activity in the country especially Ballooning.
Captain Imochaoba is the son of (Late) Kshetrimayum Mohori Singh and (Late) Rajkumari Chamusana Devi of Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai, Imphal East district.
According to a release issued by IMO SKYFUN LLP, Captain Imochaoba is the first and only qualified hot air balloonist in India having the Flight Instructor Rating of DGCA and represented the country across the globe in the World Championships and festivals.
He is the only civilian who trains the Indian defence force and civilians.
He is the representative of India in the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (World Air Sports Control) Ballooning Commission (CIA) .
Captain Imochaoba started his passion for aero sports activities from a young age through the NCC Air Wing GP HQ, in Imphal.
Later, he joined training in Gliding and hot air ballooning in 1988 at Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi.
He became an instructor (Gliding) in 1994 and served at the Delhi Flying Club training numerous trainee pilots.
He is also the only citizen in India honored with an Honorary Doctorate in Aero Sports, especially for Ballooning by the Commonwealth Vocational University, Kingdom of Tonga.
