ATDUM to boycott issuing of Disability Certificate

Not happy with the government's non-implementation of various works pertaining to distribution of Disability Certificates, the All Tribal Disables' Union Manipur (ATDUM) has decided to boycott assessment camp for issuing of Disability Certificates in all the hill districts of the State with immediate effect.
The decision was arrived at during an emergency meeting of the union chaired by its president, Momo Tantanga which was held at the office chamber of the union located at Nagaram, Imphal today.
Today's meeting was also attended by representatives from Association of Persons with Disabilities, Senapati (APDS); Churchandpur District Disables' Union (CDDU), Tamenglong Disables' Association (TDA) and Chandel Disables' Association (CDA) .
The meeting also resolved to exert pressure and take-up democratic agitation if the government does not release the backlog allowance of Disable Persons at the earliest.
Further, the meeting unanimously agreed to observe the World Disabled Day, 2012 at Imphal where there will be district wise song and talent.
