MWU celebrates silver jubilee

Celebrating 25 years of its existence, the Maram Women Union (MWU) observed its silver jubilee celebration at Taphou Naga Village, Senapati DHQ under the theme "Leave No One Behind" .
Gracing the occasion, PHE Minister Losii Dikho unveiled the jubilee monolith in the presence of Koshoni Phimu, Under Secretary SW/MI after blessings from Tailu, Chief of Taphou Naga Village.
The celebration was also attended by former Minister Ngajokpa Francis, ADC Members, Naga women and leaders of Maram Union, SDSA, SDWA, MKS, MACA etc.
Maram Women Union president, Kanga Regina, while acknowledging the pioneers of MWU, called upon menfolk to provide a platform for women in politics and other social activities.
The jubilee featured special exhortations from Francis Ngajokpa, former MLA; Deputy Speaker K Raina and ADC Executive Member A Rang.
Different sessions were graced by MLA and NPF Manipur president Awangbou Newmai; ADC Chairman A Kapani; Vice-Chairman Hingba John; DC Somorjit Salam; DPO-ICDS Cell, Senapati Miranda Zimik etc.
Minister Losii Dikho said that Maram is a blessed and fortunate tribe which has showered tremendous blessing by God.
Acknowledging the creator and materializing his gift is crucial for further progress of the Maram people, he added.
Dressed in traditional attires, womenfolk presented choreography, folklores, talent show coupled with jubilee choir.
The jubilee theme exposition was delivered by RS Taipei, president MRNBA while RK Elizabeth, DPM-DHS stressed on " women's participation and decision making" .
Greetings were delivered by presidents of NWU, Maram Union, SDWA and MKS.
