Imphal, February 02 2017: Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West has granted bail to KK Nganba after furnishing PR Bond of Rs 30000 with surety like amount today as the Investigation Officer has not submitted chargesheet or FF before the Court.

The order was passed by the Court after hearing the bail application filed by the accused under Cril Misc (B) Case No 17 of 2017 with reference to FIR case number 245 (9) 2008 Imphal Police Station under Section 307/326/34 IPC, Section 3 of Explosive Substance Act and 16 (b) 17/20 UA (P) Act.

The bail application was filed by the accused Chongtham Manglemjao Meitei @ Irabot @ Chaoba @ Koi @ Ngouba @ KK Nganba (63) s/o (L) Mani of Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak, praying for release on bail under Section 167 (2) CrPC.

The application mentioned that the accused was arrested formally by personnel of Imphal police station on July 15 last year and he has been languishing in judicial custody for more than six months.

It stated that statutory period has lapsed and the accused is ready to furnish any necessary bond and condition when the accused/petitioner is released on bail by the Court.

It further stated that the chargesheet is not yet submitted before the Court by the IO of the case till date and that the accused/petitioner will neither abscond not tamper with any evidence while on bail and shall appear before the Court on every date fixed by the Court.

The Court order mentioned that the accused/petitioner was remanded to custody since July 12 and he is still in custody.

Since the IO of the case has not submitted chargesheet or FF, the accused/petitioner is let on bail on his execution of PR Bond of Rs 30000 with surety like amount and thus disposed the Cril Misc Bail case, the Court ruled.
