Imphal, February 02 2014: The 24th death anniversary observance of freedom fighter and Tamara Patra awardee Ima Rajani devi was held today at Nupi Lan Memorial Complex during which prizes to position winners of the 6th State Level Nupi Lan Patriotic Song and Quiz competitions were also distributed.

observance function host Nupee Lan Memorial Association president K Ibempishak Devi in her address hailing determination and audacity of the then Manipuri womenfolk in defying the powerful British regime attributed semblance of stability in the present day Manipuri society to the effort of those, including Ima Rajani, who took on the British force in the historic women's uprising (Nupi lan).

Noting that Manipur still lags behind in various sectors, she called upon the people to try and emulate activities and courage of the then Manipuri womenfolk in making the society self reliant and emancipated.

Functionaries of various units of Nupee Lan Memorial Association also attended the anniversary function.
