Kangpokpi Christians pray for peace as they celebrate Advent Christmas

Kangpokpi, December 01 2019: Moving into the month of Christmas today, the Christian community at Kangpokpi DHQs, heralding the birth of Jesus Christ, celebrated Advent Christmas at Brig M Thomas Ground under the aegis of Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship (KTCF).

KTCF, the apex body of all Churches of Kangpokpi DHQs organised Advent Christmas on December 1 every year.

This year's Advent Christmas was observed under the theme 'Emmanuel' based on Matthew 1:23 .

Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman, ADC Sadar Hills accompanied by his wife Tingneilhing Hangshing, Member of Kangpokpi Town Committee and all Churches leaders of Kangpokpi attended the Advent Christmas celebration.

Rev Lamkeng Lhouvum, Pastor, KBC Centre Church Kangpokpi attended the celebration as the main speaker.

Gospel hymn, Christmas songs, Bible recitation from various Church choirs and members including KCC, Chongthu Baptist Churches Association, EBCCF, CRC, Kholmun Baptist Church, United Pentecostal Church, Methodist Church of India, Believers Eastern Church, Nepali-Hindi Church, Mission chapel, Hope Chapel, KBC, TBA and KIBC etc marked the event.

Rev Lamkeng Lhouvum, Pastor KBC Centre Church Kangpokpi spoke about Christmas and stressed the importance of living a holy life.

Speaking on the sideline of the celebration, Rev K Hangshing, Chairman, KTCF said that the Advent Christmas celebration aims at spreading Jesus's message of love, peace and harmony among all.

The large gathering also prayed for peace to prevail in the State and welcomed Christmas for a more prosperous New Year.
