Moreh, August 01 2021: A mother and son duo were injured when some unknown persons attacked the residence of Sub Inspector Laishom Premjit at Moreh ward number 7 Turel Wangma with grenade and gunshots on the night of July 31 at around 9 .

Laishom Premjit is currently posted at Moreh Police Station.

Laishom (ongbi) Babita (35), w/o of Laishom Premjit was severely injured in both the legs and chest while their 6 year old son was wounded in the back.

After giving first aid at Moreh Primary Health Centre, Laishom Babita was taken to Raj Medicity for further treatment on the same day.

On receipt of information about the incident, a large team of Moreh Police led by Addl SP M Amit and OC Moreh PS rushed to the spot.

However, there has been no report on any arrest.

Meetei Council Moreh (MCM), All Community Development Organisation Moreh (ACODOM), Hill Tribal Council, Moreh and Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Moreh Block have condemned the attack and hurling bomb at residential areas and demanded clarification from the party concerned who were involved in the attack within 48 hours.
