TSA Sadar Hills serves ultimatum over dilapidated NH 2

Weighting the untold misery of the locals and the student community in particular, over the dilapidated road covered with dust all round the clock, the Thadou Students' Association Sadar Hills today served an ultimatum to the State Government to repair the unavoidable NH2 between Koubru Laikha and Kanglatongbi within March 11.The student body today called a press conference at Motbung over the issue and expressed its serious concern over the grievances of the student community and the public owing to the unbearable dust along the highway due to the dilapidated road condition.
Thangtinlen Haokip, general secretary, TSA Sadar Hills said that apart from various other major issues in the State, the Government must also consider the crumbling NH 2 between Koubru Laikha and Kanglatongbi section which causes tremendous hardship to all.
He continued that the huge column of dust generated by every passing vehicles along the road has serious impact on the health of the student community while it has equal impact upon the vegetable vendors, roadside business, etc.
He further said that the State Government has committed time after time to repair the said section of road but no worthy activities has been executed till date, rather, the student community and the entire populace have been reeling under severe health condition and untold misery.
Speaking to media persons after inspection of the road within Motbung bazar, Thangtinlen Haokip further said that it is the right time for the Government to restore the road condition of the said section as there is nothing which could be done when monsoon season arrives.
He also said that TSA Sadar Hills along with the various other organizations including the locals had a weighty discussion over the matter and decided to serve an ultimatum to the State Government to repair the road from Koubru Laikha to Kanglatongbi within March 11.The student body also warned that TSA Sadar Hills along with the public will resort to extreme forms of agitation if the State Government fails to begin the repairing work within the stipulated time and added that and the State Government will be held solely responsible for any untoward incident.
