Organic farmers from Manipur to participate in Expo Organic North East 2023

Imphal, February 01 2023: 43 organic farmers of the State left Imphal today to participate in the 'Expo Organic North East 2023' to be held at Khanapara in Guwahati from February 3 till 5, 2023 .

The Expo Organic North East 2023 will be held under the aegis of the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) .

The farmers were flagged off today from the Horticulture and Soil Conservation Office, Sanjenthong by Honey Chara, Director, Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur and Agriculture Department Director N Gojendro.

Speaking in connection with Expo Organic North East, Project Director MOVCDNER K Debdutta Sharma said that various organic products properly processed and produced by the organic farmers producer companies units of Northeastern States will be showcased during the Expo which has been organised for the first time in the region.

He further informed that the expo is being organised with an objective to promote the organic farmers and their produce of Northeastern region.

The organic farmers who have been producing organic products under the aegis of the Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Manipur and Agriculture Department will showcase indigenous organic products such as Chakhao, lemon, orange, ginger, turmeric etc.
