Imphal, February 01 2018:
With a view to enhance transparency and efficiency of the Government, Chief Minister N Biren Singh launched an official website of the Chief Minister's Office and Manipur Police Citizen Portal; www.cmmanipur.gov.in and https://mnpcitizenportal.gov.in/ at the Chief Minister's Office today.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the website would act as an interface for the citizens living outside the State and the Government.
Citizens will also get access to the latest news and important events related to the Chief Minister's Office.
One of the key features of the website is "Manipur Connect" where citizens including students residing outside the State can register themselves and raise issues and concerns related to education, racism, harassment and corruption.
The State Government would provide the registered list of citizens and the Government would officially request other State governments to protect and provide security to citizens from Manipur, he added.
Registered students would get some benefits such as financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh and Rs 50,000 in case of death and serious injury respectively.
Another feature of the website is the ability to link with the newly launched "Grievance Cell" which will provide one step solution for citizens to lodge their grievances to the various departments, after which they can monitor the status or progress of their complaints.
About the Manipur Police Citizen Portal, Chief Minister said that the objective of this website is to establish cordial relationship and bridge the communication gap between the people and police in the State.
An individual can lodge any complaint through the website without their physical presence in the police station.
He further clarified that anonymity of the complainant would be upheld at any circumstances.
