Dy CM for judicious energy use

Dy CM Gaikhangam has urged all concerned to use the scarce non-renewable energy resources judiciously so that they are preserved for posterity.
He was speaking as the chief guest of the valedictory function of 'Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight-2016' organised by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd at Sangai Hall, Hotel Imphal today.
Calling upon all concerned to save energy and move toward its sustainable use, Gaikhangam said that over-exploitation of the non-renewable resources will be detrimental to the future.
He further urged all concerned to use non-renewable resources judiciously.
Gaikhangam also expressed strong concern that people of the State have the habit of evading tax payment like power and water taxes.
The State Govt has been able to inculcate a sense of paying power tax and its judicious use by introducing pre-paid metre system thanks to the efforts of the CM, the Dy CM said.
He also stressed the need to follow sustainable use of non-renewable energy resources like oil and natural gas, he said.
Knowing the value of non-renewable resources will be an edge in the race for development, he said and stressed on the need to spread awareness to all sections of the people.
He also expressed concern that people of the State have the habit of injudicious use of resources.
Gaikhangam also urged all concerned to shun the habit of calling bandhs and blockades.
He further called for maintaining punctuality in any programme.
He expressed deep concern that those who turn up for public function on time are considered ignorant of the local tradition.
