Pension Week celebrated

Along with the rest of the Nation, Jiribam district administration began celebration of Pension Week today.
The formal inaugural function was held at DC office conference hall by the district administration in collaboration with Labour Department, Government of Manipur.
K Tiken Singh, Inspector Labour Department, Govt of Manipur graced the inaugural programme as a chief guest while Rajkumar Mayanglambam, DC Jiribam and N Bankim Singh, ADC Jiribam shared the dais as functional president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the programme, DC Jiribam Rajkumar Mayanglambam said that the Government of India launched the pension scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan with the objective of providing source of income to the unorganized workers after attaining 60 years of age.
The Pension Week is being celebrated to spread awareness about the scheme for unorganised workers, he said.
K Tiken Singh, Inspector Labour Department, said that one must registered their name at the nearest Common Service Centre to get enrolled under the pension scheme.
The Pension Week was also celebrated at Kakching district launching Pradhan Mantri Shram-Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM) and National Pension Scheme for Traders and Self Employed (NPS-Traders) .
The inaugural function of the week long celebration at Kakching DC office, which will end on December 6, was attended by DC Neilenthang Telien, SDO Kakching Moirangthem Kapajit, Labour Inspector Huidrom Biren Singh, KMC Councillors, DLOs and officials of Common Service Centre.
