Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Guwahati and United Bank of India (UBI), Ukhrul today jointly organized a financial literacy camp and Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) mega camp at TTA Hall,
Hamleikhong here.
The RBI in its endeavour to educate and include the mass in the financial and banking system organized the financial inclusion initiatives all over the country.
Resource person MT Maunding Guite, AGM, RBI Guwahati deliberated on the purpose and objective of holding the financial literacy camp.
He said it was to ensure better link with bank and the customers.
Power point presentation on financial planning, management of finance, RBI relations with banking sectors and on developmental activities were held.
Lead District Manager, UBI, Singsit dwelt on the basic concept of saving in the bank.
He assured the SHGs that for trial basis loan will be awarded to a few selected SHGs.
He mentioned about the PMJDY stating that anybody who is an account holder of PMJDY should possess a Rupay card within 45 days.
He urged to inculcate the habit of saving for better livelihood.
Around 70 SHGs of Ukhrul district, UBI branch Manager Ranjit, Rinchuila Raleng, Nitish Kumar, Nistar Bhangra RBI, Tychicus Vasum Project Manager IFAD, UDWIM attended the one day RBI financial literacy camp.
Asst Project Manager NABARD Boicha highlighted about the scheme relevant to SHGs.
In the meantime, the RBI officer distributed register/ record book, account book and financial diary of RBI to all SHGs.
