Bodies retrieved after ZUF-NSCN(IM) gunfight

With the recovery of one more body in connection with the ZUF-NSCN(IM) gunfight yesterday in Tamenglong district, three dead bodies have been retrieved till date.
Sources said that the dead bodies were retrieved by members of Zeliangrong frontal bodies today in a jungle on Gadai Hills near the district headquarters.
The representatives of Zeliangrong frontal organisations were given entry into the thick jungle after letting the armed men that they were on peace mission and urging both sides to
cease gunfires.
The Zeliangrong frontal organisations have resisted the police attempt to transport the dead bodies to Imphal.
Both the warring parties had lost two cadres each in the gunfight.
The identities of the deceased ZUF cadres were established to be Puiluini of Puite, Haochong Range and Rathailung of Lungchun village, Tamenglong district while the deceased NSCN (IM) cadres were reported to be Benjamin Pamei of Saramba village and Ringjuanlung Kamei of Noney.
However, their genuine identities could not be confirmed immediately.
