First ever blood donation camp at Saikul

The first ever blood donation camp for Saikul was held today at Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai office at Saikul Sub Divisional Headquarters.
The blood donation camp was organized by KSO Saikul in collaboration with JNIMS Imphal Blood Bank, with an aim to generate awareness on blood donation and its significance and to save lives by making the required blood available during emergencies.
Thongjalun Mate, Member ADC Sadar Hills graced the event as chief guest while Dr Surjeet, MO, JNIMS Blood Bank and Lamgouthang Chongloi, president, KSO Saikul also attended the event.
Altogether, 75 donors participated in the blood donation camp where 45 individuals donated their blood.
"Every individual should understand the importance of blood donation", said ADC Councillor who conveyed his keenness to witness changes in the attitude of the people by understanding the importance of donation blood for the masses.
Appreciating the initiative of KSO Saikul, Thongjalun Mate motivated the student body to spread awareness on the importance of blood donation even in the far-flung areas of Saikul so as to achieve more donors.
Lamgouthang Chongloi, president KSO Saikul said that the overwhelming response from the public especially the youngsters in the first ever blood donation camp will definitely pave the way for a larger donation in future.
He also said that Saikul KSO will make every possible effort to promote and propagate the messages about blood donation among masses in Saikul and remove the myths and misconceptions about it.
Chongloi also appreciated the 75 youths who came forward to donate blood and motivated them to keep up the good work for the cause of the people, while urging the people of Saikul to come forward with huge number in the future blood donation camp.
Sufficient refreshments were provided to the blood donors while T-Shirts were also presented to each donors to mark the occasion.
