Public meeting condemn killing at Ukhrul

Ukhrul, December 31 2012: A public meeting to condemn the killing of 2 villagers of Kongkan village under Kamjong Subdivision, Ukhrul District by the UNLF on December 28and other violent attacks on the Nagas was held at Tangkhul Naga Long ground, Ukhrul District HQs today at 1 pm under the joint aegis of the Tangkhul Naga Long and the United Naga Council.

At the occasion more than 2500 people gathered around the mortal remains of late L Kumar and late K Ramshang which had been brought to Ukhrul HQs this morning brought from Kamjong, where they had been laying in state since the killing.

Besides other organisations, the meeting was attended by the Zeliangrong Baudi (Manipur), The Naga Peoples' Front(Manipur Unit), The Tangkhul Katamnao Long, The Taangkhul Shanao Long, The Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long, Tangkhul Wungnao Long, Kamjong Elders' Forum, Sambu Raiping Long, Raizan Long and villagers from Kongkan.

Condolence messages from various organisation for the deceased and condemnation speeches were delivered by representatives of the organisations present in the meeting and on behalf of frontal organisations which could not attend.
