Hill Leaders' Day, Meeyamgi Numit held in Pherzawl

The Pherzawl district administration on Saturday launched District Hill Leaders' Day and Meeyamgi Numit at the Pherzawl town community hall.
The event was attended by Pherzawl SP A Ghaneshyam Sharma, programme co-ordinator ADM Ch Sachi, SDO/BDO (Tipaimukh & Vangai) I Dinesh Kumar Singh, DLOs and chiefs/chairmen of different villages.
Speaking on the occasion, deputy commissioner Joseph Pauline Kamson pointed out that the event's primary objective is to bring about transparency and efficiency in the implementation of various welfare schemes of the government thereby ensuring better co-ordination of different department officials for speedy redressal and disposal of public grievances.

While appealing to all for extending co-operation to the government's initiative for faster development of the district, the deputy commissioner informed the gathering that the government is willing to do much more than what they have conceived for development of the new district.
He then thanked the public for their co-operation and active participation in the event and urged all to highlight their grievances and reap the benefits.
The DC also heard the grievances of the people and instructed the line departments concerned to step up process for necessary redressal.
A total of 11 applications/grievances were received by the deputy commissioner on Saturday.
As part of the event, Agriculture Department provided 10 Knapsack sprayers along with pesticides and plant growth hormones while the ZEO distributed 10 uniforms and 5 textbooks.
Demonstration of bamboo works by Pherzawl Govt High School, and distribution of vegetable seeds and saplings to 3 beneficiaries by Horticulture & Soil Conservation Department and 10 MOAPS & CMWPS pension cards by the district's social welfare department were the other highlight of the programme.
Also during the event, the SDO/BDO (Tipaimukh & Vangai Range) issued 30 tribe/income/domicile certificates and the forest department distributed 1000 saplings.
In the meanwhile, the chief medical officer distributed 5 AB-PMJAY & 4 CMHT cards while 320 Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered at the venue.
In all, 15 stalls of different departments including police, forest, health, PMGSY (RED), MSRLM, ZEO, handloom & textiles, CSC (DIT), Vety & AH, PHED, Horti & Soil conservation, agriculture, one stop centre, CAF&PD and malaria were opened.
Mention may be made that District Hill Leaders' Day & Meeyamgi Numit will be held every 4th Friday for Pherzawl district and if the 4th Friday falls on a general holiday then it will be held on the 4th Thursday of the month.
